June was a big month of "firsts" for us....it marked the first time we had to take Landon to the doctor for being sick and it was on a Saturday, first time moving houses with a mobile baby, Lee's first Father's Day, and my first time spending the night away from Landon.
Here's how the first week went: we attended an event for Lee's job and brought Landon with us. He was a big hit, of course! Landon woke up on Saturday morning with a rash that slowly started getting worse and all he would do is cuddle and whine (which is not like him at all) so we took him to see the doctor and he was diagnosed with hand, foot, mouth disease. Needless to say, it was not a fun Saturday around our house but Lee and I did enjoy the cuddles. We also had a weekend full of showings for the current house we were renting as well as appointments at our new house. We even attempted a little packing.....as you can see, we didn't get a lot done with Landon around.
The second week was a lot better for Landon and he made a full recovery! He and I even went for a lunch date at Paradise Bakery.....he didn't eat or converse much, but I gave him a pass this time! We ran lots of errands for the new house, had painters come out to paint, ordered new blinds for the house, and had Landon's 9 month check-up. He weighs 15lbs 7 oz (below 0%) and is 27" long (10%). The biggest change is that can start him on table food once we finish all of his jar baby food. Finally, we capped off the week with Lee and I attending the Mayor's Gala, our good friends, The Mospans, coming into town, Lee attending Golden Pride's 40th Anniversary celebration, and more packing.
Well, we'll start the third week off with Father's Day. Let's just say that day was REALLY stressful because it was moving day (with a mobile baby, mind you) and lots of misunderstandings between the movers and us but it all seemed to work out okay in the end. On Father's Day alone, we had the movers packing and moving us, cable installation at the new house, and Lee and friends picking up and installing our new fridge. I did feel really badly for Lee having to move on his 1st Father's Day but it didn't seem to bother him at all. The rest of the week was filled with unpacking boxes, going to visit a friend and her new baby, Landon taking his first "big boy" bath in the bath tub, finally getting in to see Landon's pediatric GI doctor, and the Lobo Club golf tournament.
Finally, the last week in June. Lee and I have been looking forward to this week for a very long time. We flew to Dallas on Sunday the 24th and stayed for 7 days....how nice! Lee had his annual conference in Dallas (Monday - Thursday) so I got to spend lots of time at home and with family. My mom came to pick up Landon on Sunday afternoon and he spent the night at "Lolli Land" a.k.a. my mom's house so that Lee and I could go to dinner for our 5th Anniversary and I could get a full nights sleep for the 1st time since before I was pregnant with Landon. I am so grateful to my mom for allowing me to spend my first night away from Landon in peace! The rest of my week was filled with getting my hair cut, Landon's first hair "trim", dinner with my Dad and grandmother, swimming with my brother and nephew, and hanging out with my mom. That weekend Lee and I headed to San Antonio and spent time with my best friend from college, Jennifer, as well as our friends Jonathan and Shannon and their baby boy, Judah. We also visited Lee's aunts and cousin there too.
I think this last picture pretty much seems up our June....fun and exhausting (in a good way)!
