Anyway, our December started off great. Landon and I had lunch with Lee before he left for Boise State to see the Lobos (try to) take on Boise St. on the "Smurf Turf" or Blue Field. Lee had an awesome experience and loved getting to see the blue field up close but said it wasn't nearly as blue in person as it looks on TV. Lee got in really early on Sunday morning and then we woke up Monday to a snow storm and UNM closed for the day. What an unexpected surprise to get to spend another whole day with Lee and Landon by the fire in our house. Later that week, I got a babysitter for Landon and went on a "date night" with Lee to the UNM Football banquet. So fun and Landon did great with his sitter, Ciara! We also took Landon to have his picture made with Santa that week. He did great waiting in the 1.5 hour line and didn't even cry when Santa held him...didn't smile either....haha!
The second week in December was a much busier one for us. We had Lee's Lobo Club Board of Directors Christmas Party, Lee's entire staff, interns, and spouses and kids over at our house for dinner (yes, I cooked for 21 people!), had Landon's Christmas pictures made, went to lunch with some girls here in the ABQ at my new favorite lunch spot, The Grove Cafe, had lunch with a donor's wife, finally got my hair highlighted and cut (much needed!), and Lee traveled to Oklahoma City for the Men's Basketball tournament. I must have been too busy to take any pictures....sorry!
Finally, the third week in December came and we had a few things to do before going off to Texas for 11 days! We decided to have our little family Christmas with Landon on Sunday before going to Texas so that we wouldn't have to haul all of his presents to Texas and then back here. We also had an event with the new football coach at a donor's house and a basketball game the night before we left for Dallas.
Now for the Texas trip! Landon did GREAT on his first plane ride. I nursed him in the airport before we boarded. He sucked on his paci and fell asleep right before we took off, woke up for the flight, and fell asleep again right before we landed. Such a good boy!
Our first full day in Dallas was crazy. Landon got to meet his cousin Harley and got spoiled from his Lolli. We ran errands, baked, cooked, saw Amanda and her mom Donna, and then got ready to have a few pictures taken by mom's boss, and then take a carriage ride through Highland Park to look at Christmas lights and dinner at Lee's favorite restaurant, Snuffers. We had a great time!
The next day, we had Christmas with Dad and his side of the family and then Christmas with Granddaddy at Mom's house. It was a blast showing off Landon to everyone. I think he got a tad spoiled from everyone holding him!
Christmas Eve was really low key this year. Lee's donor at UNM gave us his four tickets to the Cowboy's game on Christmas Eve so Mom, Jason, Lee, Landon, and me went to the game. While we were there, my uncle called and we were able to go up to the suite he was in to watch the game. It was a blast!
Christmas Day is finally here!! We spent the morning opening up presents at Mom's house and then went to my aunt and uncle's for Christmas with Mom's side of the family before heading off to Houston to spend 5 days with Lee's family.
While in Houston, we had Christmas dinner with Lee's family and opened up Christmas presents. We spent some time at the Dukes house with all of our Houston friends and their kids, went to lunch at our favorite Tex-Mex place, hung out with Hernan and Jennifer and their baby girl, Catalina, and just relaxed.
We drove back to Dallas and had dinner with Dave and Theresa and the spent New Year's Eve and New Year's Day with my Mom since it was her birthday before we left for Albuquerque on the 2nd.
Overall, we had a FANTASTIC December and First Christmas with Landon! I pray 2012 is another great year filled with the Lord's direction and blessings in our lives.
