May 2013

Oh my, Oh May! What a great month May was for us!  I guess I'll just get right into our monthly recap.

The first week of the month started off with my mom and Lee's parents coming into town for Landon's dedication at the church.  We had a great time having dinner out, cooking and more cooking, going to the UNM baseball game, Landon getting dedicated at church, and having a celebratory lunch.

The second week was very low key for us.  Landon and I went to the Zoo, lunch with a friend, Lee went to Toas, NM for work, Lee and I attended the Coaches vs. Cancer Gala, and then we celebrated Mother's Day by having breakfast in bed, going to church, BBQ lunch on the back patio, taking a nap, playing outside in the water in the backyard, and having a date night with Lee at Bravo.  It was such a great day and I'm so blessed by my husband and son.  I am one loved Momma!

The third week of May was a little busier than the previous week.  Landon had an occupational therapy appt, visited the aquarium and botanical garden with friends, dinner with Reggie & April, Lee played in two golf tournaments, and we attended Abby's high school graduation party.

The fourth week was filled with Harley's 4th birthday, lunch with a friend, Football Excellence Fund Dinner for Lee's work, UNM golf team send off, double date with Q & Kim, eye doc appt, going to Tingley Beach, playing in the water in the backyard.

The last week of the month started out with Memorial Day, attending the UNM baseball selection show, UNM baseball send off, going to the Zoo with the Clarks, another occupational therapy appt for Landon, and driving to Dallas!

May was great and June is already looking like another great month for us too!

April 2013

Well, another month has come and gone.  Seriously, where does the time go?  I'm a little indifferent about the month of April.  A lot happened this month -- mostly good but there was a lot of stress too.  God is still God and He is so faithful!  I'm so blessed to serve an awesome, risen God!

April started off with another occupational therapy appointment for Landon's eating and sensory issues, we had brunch with Lee at Weck's, had a play date with the Pitliks, Lee and I had a date night to the George Strait concert and dinner, Lee worked on the weekend, and we had some Tucson friends in town and over to our house for a nice visit.

The following week was pretty low key.  Landon and I didn't really do a lot this week.  We did manage to go to breakfast with friends on Monday.  I had a doctor's appt on Friday and then our friend, Todd Adams, came into town to spend the weekend with us.  On Friday night we went to the top of the tram for dinner.  Then, on Saturday, we spent the morning with Landon at the park and then went to the UNM baseball game later that afternoon.  The guys had a fun dinner out that night, so I'm told!  On Sunday we went to Santa Fe that morning and had a blast.  I drove Todd around ABQ on Monday so he could see all the places where Breaking Bad is filmed.  It was very interesting and I'm glad I've seen the places now!

The third week was a good but busy week.  We had another OT session with Landon, lunch with Nicole, Lee's ambassador training session, babysat Micah, lunch with Lee, UNM basketball banquet, lunch with Devan & Micah, Lee went to Houston on Friday and Saturday to spend time with friends, and after church on Sunday we went to lunch with friends.  This week we also worked from afar on our house in Tucson.  Our renters moved out 5 months early so we've been fixing, painting, looking for new renters, etc. on that house.  All worked out and God blessed us with great, new tenants this weekend.  He is so faithful!  Thank you to all of our Tucson friends for helping us in a time of need.

The last week of the month was really busy! We had the Scholar-Athlete Banquet, Ambassador Kick-Off event, Landon's GI appt, Lee's friend Micah was in town playing a concert, and then we drove to Tucson to finalize things on our house before our new renters moved in.  While in Tucson, we spent half of Saturday doing things at the house (cleaning, pulling weeds, trash runs, making copies of keys, etc.) then we saw the Ingrams and Campbells at the Campbells house for the afternoon before going over to the Secrest's new house for dinner that night.  We are so blessed to have so many good friends in Tucson to visit when we're in town.  Landon slept AWFUL both nights so we got up really early on Sunday morning and headed back to ABQ.  We sure were glad to get back home!  Finally, we ended the month with another OT session for Landon and a date night for Lee and me. It was definitely much needed! :)

I hope your April was great and not as stressful as ours was at times!

March 2013

March was madness (pun intended for my sports fans!) for us but an absolutely joyful month!  God has definitely blessed us abundantly.

We started off the month with Landon's first occupational therapy session for eating and it went better than expected.  Also, that same day we had our "roommate" move in and he'll be living with us for the next three months until his family moves here.  The rest of the week was filled with basketball games and watch parties, car maintenance, taking Landon to the Zoo, getting his hair cut, and ended with me getting a pedicure.

The following week, we drove to Las Vegas, NV for the Mountain West Basketball Tournament.  Landon did GREAT on the drive (both ways!) and we only had to stop once each way for gas/eating/diaper change. While in Vegas between Lee working and going to the basketball games, we went to the Bellagio to see the water show, saw a horse show in our hotel arena, swam in the hotel pool, ate at local restaurants, and just walked around the hotel and strip.  We had a great time and loved getting to see the Lobos win the conference tournament!

The third week of the month, Lee went to Salt Lake City, UT with the basketball team for the NCAA Tournament and Landon and I went to Dallas to visit my family.  Before Landon and I left for Dallas, we were watching the local 5:00 news when, to our surprise, they interviewed Lee at the airport with the team.  All Landon could say was "Dada, Dada, Dada!" when he saw Lee.  It was so cute! While in Dallas, I spent time with my parents, grandparents, family friends, ate Tex-Mex, and played outside at Lolli Land on the swing set.  It was a great time!

The last week on the month was Easter week!  I LOVE Easter because of it's meaning -- Jesus rose from the grave and defeated death so that we could have everlasting life with God.  Simply amazing!  That week started off with the Lobos starting spring football practice (so naturally, Landon had to grab the football and cradle it just like he's a running back!), Landon had his 18 month well check-up, I had dentist appts, Landon had a play date with Micah, we had the Nunn's over for dinner, Landon got really sick with a stomach bug and respiratory infection, Good Friday, UNM baseball game, all the craziness with the basketball coach leaving, and FINALLY Easter Sunday.  Landon learned all about the cross and God's love for us on Good Friday with his drawing.  On Sunday, it was our first Easter to spend without family EVER so we invited our friends the Pitlik's over for a late lunch and to hang out that afternoon.  I cooked (shocking, I know!) a ham, potato casserole, green bean casserole, and rolls while the Pitliks brought a sweet potato dish and dessert.  It was so good!

I hope that you had a great Easter and a great March too!
