March 2013

March was madness (pun intended for my sports fans!) for us but an absolutely joyful month!  God has definitely blessed us abundantly.

We started off the month with Landon's first occupational therapy session for eating and it went better than expected.  Also, that same day we had our "roommate" move in and he'll be living with us for the next three months until his family moves here.  The rest of the week was filled with basketball games and watch parties, car maintenance, taking Landon to the Zoo, getting his hair cut, and ended with me getting a pedicure.

The following week, we drove to Las Vegas, NV for the Mountain West Basketball Tournament.  Landon did GREAT on the drive (both ways!) and we only had to stop once each way for gas/eating/diaper change. While in Vegas between Lee working and going to the basketball games, we went to the Bellagio to see the water show, saw a horse show in our hotel arena, swam in the hotel pool, ate at local restaurants, and just walked around the hotel and strip.  We had a great time and loved getting to see the Lobos win the conference tournament!

The third week of the month, Lee went to Salt Lake City, UT with the basketball team for the NCAA Tournament and Landon and I went to Dallas to visit my family.  Before Landon and I left for Dallas, we were watching the local 5:00 news when, to our surprise, they interviewed Lee at the airport with the team.  All Landon could say was "Dada, Dada, Dada!" when he saw Lee.  It was so cute! While in Dallas, I spent time with my parents, grandparents, family friends, ate Tex-Mex, and played outside at Lolli Land on the swing set.  It was a great time!

The last week on the month was Easter week!  I LOVE Easter because of it's meaning -- Jesus rose from the grave and defeated death so that we could have everlasting life with God.  Simply amazing!  That week started off with the Lobos starting spring football practice (so naturally, Landon had to grab the football and cradle it just like he's a running back!), Landon had his 18 month well check-up, I had dentist appts, Landon had a play date with Micah, we had the Nunn's over for dinner, Landon got really sick with a stomach bug and respiratory infection, Good Friday, UNM baseball game, all the craziness with the basketball coach leaving, and FINALLY Easter Sunday.  Landon learned all about the cross and God's love for us on Good Friday with his drawing.  On Sunday, it was our first Easter to spend without family EVER so we invited our friends the Pitlik's over for a late lunch and to hang out that afternoon.  I cooked (shocking, I know!) a ham, potato casserole, green bean casserole, and rolls while the Pitliks brought a sweet potato dish and dessert.  It was so good!

I hope that you had a great Easter and a great March too!

February 2013

February was a fun month for us! It started off with Lee going to Houston to see his dad get a lifetime achievement award in advertising, watching the Super Bowl and Lee play soccer, doctor's appt for Landon, lunch with a girlfriend, getting my hair cut and highlighted (finally!), UNM basketball game, going to the children's museum, aquarium, botanic gardens, and walking around Old Town in ABQ

The following week was filled with doing taxes, snow days, walks around the neighborhood, Valentine's Day candlelight dinner, UNM baseball games, date night at Vintage, UNM basketball game, Lee playing soccer, and Landon attending his first birthday party for a friend.

The third week of the month consisted of a work/family dinner for Lee, going to Lee's office while he worked late, dinner with with friends, and our Tucson trip.  We made a quick road trip to Tucson to see our friends there and meet their babies and to check on our house that we still own there.  It was so much fun that I forgot to take any pics....lovely!  As soon as we arrived into town, we went straight to dinner at Blanco with the Campbells, Ingrams, and Rohrets.  Then, on Saturday morning, we had breakfast with the Dubs at Cracker Barrel, lunch with Betsy so I could meet Baby Bianca and hang out while Lee went to the U of A basketball game, and then dinner at the Secrest's house.  Finally, on Sunday morning, we went to breakfast and saw our house on the way out of town.

The last week in February was so much fun and went by too quickly! We had a few personal meetings to take care of along with cleaning the house before our company came into town.  First, Lee's friend, Jordan, came into town on Wednesday afternoon and the guys went to the UNM basketball game that night.  Then, on Thursday night, my mom, nephew Harley, and my nephew's mom Keri, came into town.  On Friday, we hung around house, went shopping at the Lobo Den, and then rode the tram up to the top of the mountain to play in the snow and have hot chocolate.  It was so much fun!  On Saturday, we went to breakfast at Frontier, walked around campus, fed the ducks at the duck pond, and then went to the UNM basketball game that afternoon.  On Sunday morning, Jordan left really early, Lee and I went to church, and then Mom, Harley, Keri, Lee, Landon, and I spent the day in Santa Fe shopping and walking around.  The entire weekend was a blast and I think we were all very tired once Monday came around.

February was a fun month and it's looking like March will be a blast too!
