March 2013

March was madness (pun intended for my sports fans!) for us but an absolutely joyful month!  God has definitely blessed us abundantly.

We started off the month with Landon's first occupational therapy session for eating and it went better than expected.  Also, that same day we had our "roommate" move in and he'll be living with us for the next three months until his family moves here.  The rest of the week was filled with basketball games and watch parties, car maintenance, taking Landon to the Zoo, getting his hair cut, and ended with me getting a pedicure.

The following week, we drove to Las Vegas, NV for the Mountain West Basketball Tournament.  Landon did GREAT on the drive (both ways!) and we only had to stop once each way for gas/eating/diaper change. While in Vegas between Lee working and going to the basketball games, we went to the Bellagio to see the water show, saw a horse show in our hotel arena, swam in the hotel pool, ate at local restaurants, and just walked around the hotel and strip.  We had a great time and loved getting to see the Lobos win the conference tournament!

The third week of the month, Lee went to Salt Lake City, UT with the basketball team for the NCAA Tournament and Landon and I went to Dallas to visit my family.  Before Landon and I left for Dallas, we were watching the local 5:00 news when, to our surprise, they interviewed Lee at the airport with the team.  All Landon could say was "Dada, Dada, Dada!" when he saw Lee.  It was so cute! While in Dallas, I spent time with my parents, grandparents, family friends, ate Tex-Mex, and played outside at Lolli Land on the swing set.  It was a great time!

The last week on the month was Easter week!  I LOVE Easter because of it's meaning -- Jesus rose from the grave and defeated death so that we could have everlasting life with God.  Simply amazing!  That week started off with the Lobos starting spring football practice (so naturally, Landon had to grab the football and cradle it just like he's a running back!), Landon had his 18 month well check-up, I had dentist appts, Landon had a play date with Micah, we had the Nunn's over for dinner, Landon got really sick with a stomach bug and respiratory infection, Good Friday, UNM baseball game, all the craziness with the basketball coach leaving, and FINALLY Easter Sunday.  Landon learned all about the cross and God's love for us on Good Friday with his drawing.  On Sunday, it was our first Easter to spend without family EVER so we invited our friends the Pitlik's over for a late lunch and to hang out that afternoon.  I cooked (shocking, I know!) a ham, potato casserole, green bean casserole, and rolls while the Pitliks brought a sweet potato dish and dessert.  It was so good!

I hope that you had a great Easter and a great March too!
