Fabulous February

So, I am officially the world's worst blogger since March is almost over and I'm just now catching up on February.  One of these days I'll get better at this....haha!

We had a fabulous February in Tucson...hince the title!  First, my grandmother turned 80 on Ground Hog's Day and then she and my mom came to Tucson two days later.  As soon as I picked them up from the airport we went to eat at Gavi's (which is mom's favorite place here) for Nene's birthday celebration.  After dinner we came home and I had a little birthday celebration waiting for us.

The next day Nene and I went to Mt. Lemmon and ate lunch at the Cookie Cabin.....probably my favorite place here!  The drive was beautiful with all of the snow.  I couldn't believe we were actually still in Tucson.

We also visited the Gem Show while Mom and Nene were here.  Nene even bought herself a heart shapped diamond ring for 80th birthday.  That sure was a blast!  It was Superbowl Sunday while they were here so we watched the game at our house while Lee bounched around to a couple of parties.

The next weekend Lee and I celebrated Valentine's Day pretty much the whole weekend since he had a soccer game on Valentine's night.  We actually went to dinner Friday night at CORE which is the restaurant at the brand new Ritz Carlton here in Tucson.  Here are a few pictures from V-Day Weekend.

The last half of the month was filled with lots of meal plans for families with new babies in our Sunday School class.  It's been a blast getting to meet all the new babies (5...I think!) born within 6 weeks of each other!  Lee has also been playing soccer on Sunday nights, basketball at the RJ on Tuesday nights, and softball on Thursdays.  We still have to go to all of the U of A Men's home Basketball games as well as my board mixers for my job.  As usual, I have my monthly Pi Phi meetings at U of A, which I love the girls....they are so sweet!  We also had Lee's co-worker, Tom, over for dinner for his birthday.  Busy month for us!

Lee also managed to put on the best FCA "Breakfast with the Pros" during February at the beginning of the Accenture Match Play.  We were able to get tickets to the match play this year and unfortunately it rained pretty much the whole time we were there.....bummer!  We were wet and cold!

My Grandfather turned 80 in February too and we wish we could have been back in Texas to celebrate with our family.  But that same weekend, one of Lee's friends from Notre Dame, Garrett, came into town to visit us.  We've been really blessed with tons of visitors while out here in the middle of the desert!

Garrett and Lee went to a couple of basketball games, the match play ( I went too!), and we took him to a few of our favorite places to eat in Tucson.....El Charro - Downtown and Tohono Chul Tea Room.  We had so much fun just being with old friends!

Jolly January

January one was BUSY month for us!!  Who said it slows down after the holidays?

To start off, my mom turned 50 on the 1st and we had her 50th birthday party that night.  It sure was a blast and she is one popular momma!  I had a great time seeing and meeting all of her friends throughout her life from high school until now.

Lee and a couple of his staff went to the Fiesta Bowl game in Phoenix and apparently had really great seats.  Wish I could have gone but one day I'll get to go when the Cats play in the Fiesta Bowl!!  We also had a National Championship game watch party at our house.  It was a blast but I was the only girl.  Thanks for leaving me all alone with the guys, Theresa.

Lee's dad also turned 60 in January.  His birthday celebration was made complete with a surprise party from his sisters in San Antonio.  I just wish we could have been there to celebrate with them.

January also brought about lots of U of A basketball games and  Pi Beta Phi advisor training and meetings for me.  We also had the Wildcats Football Banquet and the Platinum and Diamond Donor Reception for Lee's work and my company's annual meeting and awards dinner.  It's fun getting dressed up for all of these events....it feels like college date parties all over again!

Towards the end of the month we had Intentional Night at the Ingram's house, my brother turned 27, and we saw Legally Blonde, The Musical.  Hands down - the best musical I have ever seen.  Here's a few pics from that night.

Lee and I at Elle for dinner before seeing "Elle" star in the musical

Waiting for the show to begin....ahhh, so excited!!

Hope everyone had as wonderful of a January as we did!

End of 2009 Recap....2 months late!

We had a great December and end to 2009!  We started off with our Sunday School class, 241, Christmas party at the Dubs house, Lee's student intern party at our house, and a LOOOOOONG trip back to Texas (okay, for me at least!).

Lee taught a winter-mester class for U of A to earn a few extra dollars for us since my salary reduction.  I am so proud of my Professor De Leon!  Since Lee was teaching he came back to Tucson the Sunday after Christmas while I stayed in Texas for the next week, New Year's, and my mom's 50th birthday party on the 1st.  I was sad to spend New Year's eve without Lee but it sure was fun being back in the lone star state! Lee also went to San Diego to see the U of A Wildcats play in the Holiday Bowl.  Unfortunately, the Cats ran out of time but Lee had a blast spending quality time with his dad on the San Diego trip.

Here's a few pictures of our house decorated for Christmas

Pics from our trip back to Texas....we had a true white Christmas on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning!

More to come on January......stay tuned!
