Happy Fall Ya'll!

Now that is it finally fall Lee and I (okay really just me!) decided to change up a few things around our house and decorate it for one of my favorite seasons.  While mom was in town last weekend she helped me pick up a few new things while capitalizing on the few fallish things we had laying around the house.  I think it turned out great but I'll let you be the judge of that!

Here are the new items to spice up the front porch.  I think they go well with the orangish front door.

We decided to use what we received as a housewarming gift a few months ago and added candles to it for the island centerpiece.

Here's the dining table's new centerpiece.

Happy Fall Ya'll!  Hope everyone had a great week!

My 25th Birthday!!

Yesterday I turned 25!!  As my husband said last night at dinner I have officially entered into adulthood....haha!  I like to think that I'm still young though. :)

I had a great day starting with Lee cooking breakfast for me, lunch at Chopped with Alexis (what could be better than that?), birthday cake celebration at work, and then dinner at Bob's Steak & Chop House with Lee....YUM!  I pretty much ate all day and loved it!!

I had so many friends call, text, email, write on my wall, and message me birthday wishes.  I feel so blessed to have such great friends and to be so loved!  Thank you to everyone for the sweet "happy birthdays."

Here is a couple of pics from dinner at Bob's.  You can see Lee's birthday present to me (pearl earrings) in the picture if you look closely and my new "birthday dress."

Of course I had to get a pic with my handsome hubs!

Had to take a picutre of the front of the restaurant since it looks so much different from the Bob's in Dallas!

Hope everyone is having a fantastic week!

Mother/Daughter Birthday Weekend

Mom flew in to spend the weekend before my 25th birthday with me while Lee was in Florida being a guest professor for the sports marketing class and going to the University of Florida vs. Tennessee game.  I know he had a blast!

I picked up mom from the airport on Thursday early afternoon.  Unfortunately she had to come back to work with me for an hour or so then we went to Happy Hour/early dinner at Blanco.  Yum!  We then went to get a pedicure and manicure.

I had Friday off so we spent the day getting a massage (thanks to Gran!), shopping, and seeing the movie Love Happens.  Here we are about to get the day started!

After a day of shopping mom baked me my favorite homemade cake for my birthday.  Here she is being Ms. Betty Crocker!  I was so busy eating the leftover batter and icing that I forgot to get a picture of the finished cake....haha!

On Saturday, we spent most of the day shopping and spending my birthday money!!  We also went to happy hour/late lunch and then had a very late dinner at Sam Hughes (thank to dad!).  Here we are at dinner!

Sunday was a full day too.  We went to church and mom got to meet all of our new friends there.  Then we played golf, shopped a little more, picked up Lee from the airport, and then went to eat at our favorite restaurant, Gavi!  Here we are on the golf course.  While playing golf on the second hole, we saw a real, wild baby cougar cross our fairway 30 yards behind us!

And at Gavi....

It was so much fun having my mom here for a little while.  I miss her so much!  I hope everyone has a great week!

Crazy Week with Awesome Football Games!!

Lee and I had a "crazy busy" week last week that ended with lots of great football games.  I was fortunate enough to have Tuesday off of work so I spent most of the day cleaning the house, getting caught up on laundry, grocery store, etc.  (I totally felt like a "housewife" for the day and LOVED it!).  We also had Lee's new intern and his mom over for dinner.  They are such great people!

Wednesday was equally busy for the both of us.  Lee worked late and didn't get home until 8:00 p.m. or so and I had a 2-hour Pi Phi meeting at the Student Union on campus until 8:00 also.  We came home, cooked dinner, cleaned the kitchen and went straight to bed!

Thursday, Guy, our friend from Baton Rouge came in for dinner and spent the night with us.  I sure love having visitors and catching up with old friends.  We are so blessed to have so many friends from all across the country.

Friday after worked I quickly grocery shopped for a few things for Saturday's "Notre Dame Watch Party" and then we went to the Stine's house for dinner and football.  It was great to meet Baby Peyton and laugh with great friends.

Saturday...."the BIG day".....we had about 8 die-hard Notre Dame fans over to the house for a Notre Dame watch party.  It was a blast even though the game didn't go the way we thought it should!!  We had burgers, chips, dips, veggies, fruit and cookies...no wonder my stomach hurt that night!  Tara and Johnny also came in from Phoenix to spend the night with us and go to the U of A game.  After the Notre Dame game ended, we hurried to the stadium to see the Wildcats beat Northern Arizona 34-17....GO CATS!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend.  This is Amy and Baby Dominic
Theresa and Dave....what would we do without them?
Johnny and Tara at the U of Game
and Lee and me with my new Wildcat jersey!
Today, Sunday, has been a great day full of church, sunday school, lunch, nap, football, working out, and resting.  We're so thankful for a day of rest to get us ready for the next week!

Labor Day Weekend

Okay, so I am officially one week behind in posting about our Labor Day weekend....sorry about that!

Lee and I had a very busy weekend and past week, but we wouldn't want it any other way!  On Friday night we actually made time to have a "date night" at Texas Roadhouse.  We had a gift certificate that paid for the whole meal and that made it much sweeter.  We came back to the house and watched a free movie on TV -- 10 Thing I Hate About You.  It had been so long since we had seen that movie that it was like watching it for the first time!  I told Lee for some reason this felt like the best date night ever....maybe because it was all pretty much free!  Who wouldn't love free date nights?

On Saturday, we lounged around the house watching the first Notre Dame game of the season....GO IRISH!!....and they won 35-0!  Then we headed up to U of A for the Arizona vs. Central Michigan game 2.5 hours early.  We had a couple of tailgates to visit and finally made it in the stadium only to have kick-off delayed an hour because of lightening.  Better safe than sorry though!  Here is a picture of us in the Stadium Club waiting for the lightening storm to pass.  Somehow it was the only picture I got for the first game.

On Sunday, we got up early and went to church and Sunday School.  I absolutely LOVE our new Sunday School class and feel so blessed by everyone in the class.  Alexis and Brandon had us over for dinner that night and we ended up chatting for 5 hours before coming home.
Monday....Labor Day....we went to Andrea and Gabe's house for the guys fantasy football draft.  Who knew how seriously guys take this?!  We had a blast and then came home to take a nap and have dinner at Chili's with the Church's.  It was TDub's birthday so it made it sweeter having dinner with them that night!
I'll try to catch up on this week when I have more time.  Everyone is fixing to come to over for the Notre Dame "watch party" and then it's onto U of A for that game.

Jordan's Visit

Last weekend Lee's friend Jordan Riedel visited us all the way from Florida!  He's such a good friend to keep up with us and visit us in all the cities we have lived.  Of course the guys did not take any pictures while Jordan was here and I was not with them most of the time so I apologize for the boring text blog in advance.

On Friday afternoon Lee drove up to Phoenix to pick up Jordan at the airport and then go to the Arizona Cardinals vs. the Green Bay Packers game.  From what I am told they had a blast and did not make it back to Tucson until 12:30 a.m.  What an exciting game ending though!  Too bad the Cardinals couldn't pull it off.

Saturday Lee gave Jordan a tour of U of A and we met up for an In-N-Out Burger....yum!  That's the one thing Texas is missing out on but I hear there are rumors that In-N-Out maybe coming to Texas soon!! :)  The guys then went to play golf on the course that we live on.  Later that night, Tom, Lee's newest Wildcat Club staff member, come over for dinner and got to meet Jordan.  Unfortunately I was the only girl around but I had fun cooking and baking for the guys.

Sunday morning came early!  I cooked the guys breakfast and sent them off the Phoenix.  They went the the Arizona Diamondbacks vs. the Houston Astros game and then spent the afternoon (and dinner) with the Mospans before taking Jordan back to the airport.  Lee finally made it home around 10:30 p.m. or so.  I was busy most of the afternoon and evening at the Pi Beta Phi house for my monthly meeting with the alumnae council and the girls.  I love Pi Phi and being at the house always makes me want to go back to my sorority days!! :)

Hope you all are having a great week!
